Hi, I’m Gigi, the writer and designer behind Roots and Copy. While I write and design copy for multiple businesses on a variety of subjects, I also enjoy writing and creating just for the fun of it. It is in my roots, a favorite activity since I was a little girl. I decided to call my blog Roots and Copy because nature and my childhood is the ultimate inspiration to my creativity. As a young girl I wandered the woods around my home with pen and paper in hand. Sitting on the roots of an old oak tree, I conceived adventures, poems, and songs. It was my dream to be an author, to follow the footsteps of my favorite authors Louisa May Alcott, Jane Austen, J.R.R Tolkien, Elizabeth Goudge. Of course that list of authors continuously grew as reading was the best friend to my writing.
It is my joy to write for myself and for others whether it be a bio that propels forward your purpose and mission or a children’s story to be enacted with yoga poses. In this blog, I want to encourage you and your children to live your purpose and to find your mission. What you have to offer this world is something that only you can offer. And just as trees spread their roots to the forest, sharing nourishment and strength, so do we build community of hope and courage by sharing our stories.
Just as I am realizing my dream of a career in writing, I have witnessed the dreams of other’s coming true when they finally give themselves permission to achieve them. That is why this blog exists. To encourage, teach, guide, and inspire the next generation of dreamers to pursue their dreams with confidence, knowledge, and support. I believe it can be a family affair – parents and children together – building creative skills and learning more about yourself and what makes you happy.
